Every Sonny game is divided into Zones, that contain a unique shop, and unique enemies to battle against. Only when Sonny's party defeats all the enemies in a zone may he move to the next.
Players can visit previous zones using the World Map button. This allows players to combat weaker enemies for training or leveling-up.
Certain zones are plot zones, and accessible to all players since they are part of the storyline. Bonus zones may only be accessed if a player meets certain requirements (using the "Heroic" difficulty, or similar). Sonny (2017) doesn't have any bonus zones, all Zones in this game are plot zones. They also have a designated zone level in this game, which is used to set the Level of enemies and dropped items.
