Voodoo Hex is an A.I. Exclusive Active Ability in Sonny (2017).
Details[]
Strikes all enemies 1 time, dealing Shadow damage with 100% of the caster's Power. If this ability hits, it applies the positive buff Shadow Hex to the target. After this ability has been used, it enters a cooldown of 4 turns.
Target Buff[]
Shadow Hex: When this unit is healed, the caster of Shadow Hex gains a 20% increase in power.
When the target of this buff is healed with an ability, the caster of the buff grows their Power with 20% of their current Power. A charge is also consumed. This ability starts with 3 charges and a duration of 5 turns when applied. The duration ticks down when the target ends their turn. Lastly, this buff is considered to be a positive buff.

Tactics[]
As Shadow Hex is considered to be a positive buff, Regenerate and Detox is unable to dispel it. While Blaze Aura and Disrupt is able to dispel it, the buff will trigger first before being dispelled. This is because the game checks the buff condition Get Healed before the ability condition On Hit when any ability is executed.
If the player needs to heal a party member with Shadow Hex; Use auras, buffs or other mechanics that isn't an ability (such as lifesteal), as these don't trigger the buff.
The buff doesn't apply any A.I. score modifiers in regards to healing abilities. As such, Veradux and Dr Herregods will attempt to heal a low HP party member even if they have the buff. To avoid this situation, the player should focus their attacks towards the unit who casted this ability, since while the buff remains active when the caster is dead, it does nothing on trigger. Another option is to not have Veradux or Dr Herregods in the party, relying on Sonny for heals is necessary.
Trivia[]
- The Shadow Hex buff is one of few that doesn't have a pop-up when applied. Another example would be the Stun buff.
