Stone Form is an Active Ability in Sonny (2017). It's available for Sonny from the Nature Strain.
In-Game Description[]
Gain Stone Form for 2 turns, increasing power and defense by 50% for 2 turns. Also instantly restores X focus.
Details[]
Strikes self 1 time, restoring X Focus to the caster and grants the buff Stone Form to them. After this ability has been used, it enters a cooldown of 6 turns.
Caster Buff[]
Stone Form: Power and defense increased by 50%. (+ Pow and Def 50%)
The +50% Power and Defense modifier is continuous while this buff is active. When the target of this buff ends their turn, a charge is consumed. This buff starts with 3 charges, and gains an extra charge if the target doesn't already have this buff, of the same element. It's also considered to be a positive buff.
As this buff is applied to the caster before they end their turn, a charge is immediately consumed after this ability has been used.
Upgrades[]
Focus gain (X) is upgraded:
- Level 1: Restores 50 focus
- Level 2: Restores 55 focus
- Level 3: Restores 60 focus
- Level 4: Restores 65 focus
- Level 5: Restores 70 focus
Tactics[]
This ability is powerful when combined with attacks that scales off both Power and Defense. These are:
For abilities that only has Power scaling, the Stone Form is equivalent to an Empower buff that lasts 1 turn longer. The increased Defense is instead used as normal, to reduce damage taken and to divert enemy attacks to allies with lower Defense.
Evolutions[]
As this ability has zero Power scaling, the pool of accessible evolutions is quite small. Because of this, Buff Evolutions are more common on this ability.
Trivia[]
- The abiltity Inspire, used by the Spartan, applies the same buff as this ability. The differences between them is that Inspire can target allies as well, and also heals the target.
- Despite the fact that this ability has no Power scaling, it can score a critical hit. Normally this is invisible unless the player has Phoenix Soul or Frostbite equipped.
