The Physical Strain is the first strain that Sonny starts out with in Sonny (2017). Sonny begins with Quick Strike and Regenerate already unlocked. Break is unlocked in the tutorial, though it can be re-specced later.
This strains is always available regardless of what other strains are chosen in the future. Most of the kit here, with the exception of Expose, synergises well with the other elemental strains. By itself this strain is focused somewhat into offense, applying a variety of debuffs, which can be exploited using Claw. The strain does have access to powerful defensive and recovery abilities.
This strain has 3 (de)buffs that is only available for Sonny here: Guard, Bleed, and Expose. Guard increases the target's Defense, Stun Resist and Focus Drain Resist. Bleed deals damage to the target when it's hit, and causes it to be targeted more by the player's allies. Expose reduces the target's Defense, like a more powerful Breach, but will only last for one attack.
This strain's unique evolution is Bleed, which will make the evolved ability apply the debuff with the same name, exactly like how Wound works.

Trivia[]
- All abilities except for Guard can be upgraded 4 times after being obtained. Guard cannot be upgraded once obtained. The only other ability that shares this attribute is Nightmare from the Shadow Strain.
- Since Regenerate has the Nature element, there's actually no healing abilities of Physical element that can be used on allies, available to Sonny. However, it's possible to evolve Guard with Nourish, turning it into an healing ability.
- If the player beats the game using only this strain, they'll earn the Physiotherapy achievement.
