Oberursel: The Frozen Village is the second Zone in Sonny 2.

After Felicity's car stops working, Sonny and Veradux walk through the village of Oberursel in search of Utopia. During their journey, they encounter and battle Roald and his fellow insurgents, who propose they work together once they realize that Sonny and Veradux are zombies with intelligence and free agency. The insurgents reveal that they are the remnants of a group of scientists working on a cure for zombification. They suffered assassinations and kidnappings at the hands of an unknown party before fleeing the Utopia and coming to Oberursel.

Sonny decides to team up with Roald to fight the fanatic Cult in the village that despises zombies and kills innocent people. They fight through hordes of frost zombies and Cultists to eventually confront the cult leader, who is revealed to be an old enemy from Sonny's past, Baron Brixus, in disguise. The Baron is himself a powerful zombie overlord who started the "anti-zombie" cult for fun.

Sonny's party defeats the Baron, and the cult falls apart once its leader is revealed to be a zombie. However, a new threat immediately presents itself when Sonny's party encounters a squad of ZPCI soldiers that have been sent to destroy the village and exterminate its inhabitants. After a confrontation with Captain Hunt and his elite team, Roald leads Sonny and Veradux to an underground railroad to escape the ZPCI.

Roaming Mode Text

• The Car: "The car that Felicity tried to use to escape. Veradux shot it with an Electro-Bolt to shut off the engine and stop her from getting away, but is looks like the battery was permanently damaged. In the car there was a tape player. I still can't believe it... How is that song going to help me with anything? Maybe Louis gave me the wrong tape. Better keep it anyway, just in case. Felicity seemed to think it was important."
• The Well: "It's not working anymore, the water is frozen. Luckily, I have other ways to maintain my hydration levels. But the blood here.. It seems familiar."
• Insurgent Hideout: "What are you doing here? Leave this place, there is nothing for you here. This village is crawling with zombies and madmen. We're trying to keep a low profile, please go away before you draw any unwanted attention."
