The lightning strain, as seen in the class selection menu.
The Lightning Strain is an unlockable strain for Sonny in Sonny (2017). It's a speed focused strain, in the sense that it can be used to reduce the time it takes until Sonny reaches his next turn, and increase the time it takes for enemies. This is done through increasing Sonny's Speed, decreasing the enemies Speed, and modifying Focus of both parties. Such burst combos can deal significant damage to an enemy before they can act, but it has a lengthy cooldown.
This strain has only 1 unique buffs that's only available for Sonny here: Conduction. This buff increases Sonny's Lightning power and healing taken until he casts an ability. While Force Field is the only ability that can apply Barrier, this buff is also available through the evolution Barrier.
This strain's unique evolution is Static Potential, which increases the evolved ability's damage/healing dealt by 50% if Sonny has at least one Lightning buff. It's description is a bit misleading, it doesn't increase Power scaling by 50%.
