Iron Slam is an Active Ability in Sonny (2017). It's available for Sonny from the Physical Strain.
In-Game Description[]
Deal X damage, plus an additional Y% of defense as damage. Also applies Suppress (reduces healing by 70% for 3 turns) to the target.
Details[]
Strikes an enemy 1 time with a melee attack, dealing Physical damage with 50% of the caster's Power + Y% of the caster's Defense. When this ability hits, it applies the buff Suppress to the target. After it has been used, it enters a cooldown of 4 turns.
The X part of the description will only show the Power scaling while in the "Skill" menu, but in combat it will correctly show the total scaling. Furthermore, Suppress normally lasts for 4 turns, not 3.
Target Buff[]
Suppress: Healing on this unit is reduced by 70%. (- Healing 70%)
The -70% healing taken modifier is continuous while the buff is active. When the target of this buff ends their turn, a charge is consumed. This buff starts with 3 charges, and gains an extra charge if the target doesn't already have this buff, of the same element. This buff is also considered to be a negative buff.
Upgrades[]
Defense scaling (Y%) is upgraded:
- Level 1: Plus an additional 120% of Defense as damage
- Level 2: Plus an additional 135% of Defense as damage
- Level 3: Plus an additional 150% of Defense as damage
- Level 4: Plus an additional 165% of Defense as damage
- Level 5: Plus an additional 180% of Defense as damage
Tactics[]
This ability will deal massive damage if you are affected by Guard or Stone Form. However, using the evolution Resonance (+75% element power buff) will not increase the damage significantly due to elemental power only affecting Power scaling, not Defense scaling.
Trivia[]
- Has the highest Defense scaling of all the abilities available to Sonny.
- The Spartan uses a similar ability, Shield Slam, which works almost the same except it has a lower Defense scaling than this ability.
