Glacier Shock is an A.I. Exclusive Active Ability in Sonny (2017).

Details[]

Strikes all enemies 1 time, dealing Frost damage with 75% of the target's current HP, ignoring their Defense in damage calculation. This ability also has a +100% Hit. Bonus. If it hits, this ability applies the negative buff Suppress to the target. It also starts with a cooldown of 7 turns, which immediately ticks down when the target starts their first turn, meaning it's available for use on their 7th turn. After this ability has been used, it enters a cooldown of 6 turns.

This ability gains a bonus to it's A.I. score with 500% of the caster's Base Stat.

Target Buff[]

Suppress: Healing on this unit is reduced by 70%. (- Healing 70%)

The healing taken modifier is continuous while the buff is active. When the target of this buff ends their turn, a charge is consumed. This buff starts with 3 charges, and gains an extra charge if the target doesn't already have this buff, of the same element.

Tactics[]

As this ability ignores Defense in damage calculation, it will actually deal a minimum of 86.25% of the target's current HP. This is because abilities with the "Piercing" attribute also receive a 15% damage increase in addition to the Defense ignoring aspect. That said, this ability is capable of killing the party if their Defense stat is too low, which is the point where unit's take increased damage. All damaging abilities will receive the damage increase from targeting units with low Defense, regardless if they have "Piercing" or not. In this case, the 15% damage increase from it is additive to the damage increase from low Defense.

If the party survives this ability, the only reliable way of recovering is to kill a Mana Orb, since their Healing Mana ability (which applies the aura Heaven's Mana) will almost certainly fully heal the party despite the Suppress buff being active on them.

Trivia[]

  • This ability's icon is named "SI_Shatter" in the game files, meaning it could've been Shatter's icon before it was switched.
