Dr Brandt was once a leading researcher in the field of reanimation, and a character in Sonny (2017).
Background []
Before The End of The World, Doctor Brandt was colleagues with Doctor Herregods and Doctor Klima. They were leading researchers in reanimation, but instead of trying to find a cure, as they were meant to do, he and Klima became obsessed with trying to create alternative strains to the virus.
Eventually, the three went their separate ways and Brandt dedicated his time to find a way for humanity to benefit from the virus. He was trying to achieve immortality.

The closest he ever came to it is a modified strain, which resides in Sonny.
