Tactics[]
Blood Focus is best used by Sonny to restore high amounts of focus to himself for fairly minimal ability point investment. While Blood Focus does have a health cost, that cost is small enough that it can be practically ignored in most situations.
Blood focus is one of 3 abilities Sonny can use to restore his own focus (the other 2 being Re-Energize and Regeneration). Blood Focus can be considered a much better choice for restoring Sonny's own focus than Re-Energize, given that it restores more focus, has a shorter cooldown and also has a lower level requirement. The main advantage Re-Energize has over Blood Focus is that it can also be used to restore the focus of allies.
Compared to Regeneration, Blood Focus restores far more focus in the short term (especially at lower levels - it would take level 1 Regeneration 14 turns to restore more than one use of a level 1 Blood Focus ability). On the other hand, Blood Focus requires that Sonny spend a turn casting it, as well as reserve space for it on his ability wheel. Given that, which one of the two abilies you prioritise for focus restoration should mainly depend on how quickly you consume focus with your other abilities.
