Blaze Aura is an Active Ability in Sonny (2017). It's available for Sonny from the Fire Strain.
In-Game Description[]
Deal X damage and dispels all effects from the target. If used on an ally, will heal them instead. Also gain Blaze Aura (increased critical strike and hit chance) for one turn.
Details[]
Strikes anybody 1 time, dealing Fire damage if it's an enemy or restoring HP if it's an ally, with 50% of the caster's Power multiplied with damage factor Y, and with a +100% Hit. Bonus. When this ability hits, it will dispel up to 10 positive and negative (a.k.a. neutral) buffs from the target. After this ability has been used, it applies the buff Blaze Aura to the caster. It also enters a cooldown of 3 turns.
The description doesn't mention that this ability has a +100% Hit. Bonus, and that it will only dispel up to 10 buffs.
Caster Buff[]
Blaze Aura: Critical strike chance and hit chance increased by 50% for one attack. (+ Crit and Hit)
The +50% Hit. Bonus and Crit. Bonus modifiers are continuous while the buff is active. When the target of this buff hits with an attack, a charge is consumed. When the target ends their turn, the duration ticks down. This buff starts with 1 charge and a duration of 2 turns. It's also considered to be a positive buff.
As this buff is applied to the caster before they end their turn, it's duration immediately ticks down after this ability has been used.
Upgrades[]
Damage factor (Y) is upgraded:
- Level 1: Multiplied with power factor 1.25 (62.5% Power)
- Level 2: Multiplied with power factor 1.5 (75% Power)
- Level 3: Multiplied with power factor 1.75 (87.5% Power)
- Level 4: Multiplied with power factor 2 (100% Power)
- Level 5: Multiplied with power factor 2.25 (112.5% Power)
Tactics[]
This abiltiy is useful when the player wants to dispel a dangerous buff from any unit while they have other buffs of the same polarity.
It's also useful in crit builds, by casting it before using an ability that has extra Crit. Damage or activates an effect on crit.
Because the buff only triggers on attack hits, the player can use healing abilities or miss with an attack without consuming a charge. However, because of it's short duration, the only abilities this is effective on is those that multistrikes (Detox).
Evolutions[]
- Recommended
- Amplify: Results in a significant damage boost due to the high damage factor, but only if some skill points are spent into upgrading this ability.
Trivia[]
- This ability has the highest damage factor growth of all the abilities in Sonny (2017). That said, it also has very low Power scaling, and therefore will still not be better at healing than other abilities.
- It's very unlikely that a unit has over 10 buffs on them, since they cannot stack and that the same buff can be applied by multiple different abilities.
