Blast is an Active Ability in Sonny (2017). It's available for Sonny (Sonny 2017) from the Fire Strain.

In-Game Description[]

Deal X damage. Critical strikes deal Y% additional damage.

Details[]

Strikes an enemy 1 time with a ranged attack, dealing Fire damage with 225% of the caster's Power. Before this ability strikes, this ability's Crit. Damage is increased by Y% additively. After this ability has been used, it enters a cooldown of 4 turns.

This ability is affected by a glitch which causes it to apply the Crit. Damage Bonus twice.

Upgrades[]

Crit. Damage bonus (Y%) is upgraded:

  • Level 1: Critical strikes deal 60% additional damage. (Actually 120%)
  • Level 2: Critical strikes deal 75% additional damage. (Actually 150%)
  • Level 3: Critical strikes deal 90% additional damage. (Actually 180%)
  • Level 4: Critical strikes deal 105% additional damage. (Actually 210%)
  • Level 5: Critical strikes deal 120% additional damage. (Actually 240%)

Tactics[]

Equip items that increases Crit. Chance to make this ability deal massive damage consistently. The passive Cruelty can also be used if items aren't enough. To attain 100% Crit. Chance, the player must make use of the Clarity buff or something of similar effect.

Evolutions[]

  • Recommended
    • Sharpen: Replaces abilities that apply Clarity or Blaze Aura.
    • Fury: Second strike gains an additional 60%-120% Crit. Damage bonus (for a total of 180%-360% Crit. Damage Bonus). High base Crit. Chance from items and the Heat Distortion passive is recommended before getting this evolution.

Trivia[]

  • This ability can be used to easily obtain the achievement "Impact" (Deal 20,000 damage in one hit).
  • This ability the highest base Power scaling of all damaging abilities available to Sonny. It's however surpassed by a Level 3 Blood Strike and a Level 5 Warp Strike, since this ability doesn't have the upgrade type "Damage Factor".
  • Compared to Arc Flash, this ability will deal less damage on critical hits at all levels, assuming they're at the same ability level and that element power bonuses are not accounted for. Non-critical hits will deal more damage due to the higher Power scaling. The reason Arc Flash deals more damage is due to a glitch which causes it's Crit. Damage bonus to be significantly higher than this ability's bonus. If the glitch would be fixed, then this ability would deal more damage than Arc Flash at level 2 and above.

  • If element unique abilities and evolutions are also used (Apocalypse for Fire, Conductivity and Static Potential for Lightning), then Arc Flash will deal even more damage compared to this ability, because of the Lightning Strain having more options compared to Fire Strain.
